I have a HD samsung receiver and a tech support guy at Directv told me that it will receive all the HD programming that they are adding. I don't think it will. Who is correct?

No that is not correct.

You need a HR20 (HD DVR) or H20 (HD Receiver) with a 5 LNB dish.

If you have a multi-switch that will also have to be upgraded to a Zinwell WB68 which is a free upgrade.

You will also need to connect the BBC's to the SAT line/s on the receiver.

Thanks that is what I thought. I have an HR20 also so I should be good with the dish, so I just need the new receiver. Will they give me a deal on this or is it $99 for me to get the upgraded receiver even though I have the dish and the HD package already?

You have to call and ask. They have been offering a lot of different deals to a lot of different people.

If you have an HR20, why do you need a new receiver? Are you planning to get a second one? Many are getting one for $19.95
