PVR721 Bug: SkyAngel Audio-Only channels have no sound

Knowing that Dish reads this forum and not seeing this reported elsewhere, I thought I better make a note of this. These channels tune in fine on my 501 but not on the 721. Maybe this will be resolved under L105? This does not seem to be an intermittent glitch. These channels have never broadcast properly on the 721 afaik.

Which channels are missing? I had a similiar issue, with a few missing transponders. Turned out it was caused by tree growth. On a missing channel whats your signal strength on that transponder?

All 16 of the sky angel audio only channels are not working. It shows the banner on the top for a few seconds and then nothing. Their 16 video channels work fine. The 501, which works correctly on these channels, displays a scrolling message about song title information not being available as it plays the stations. Most of sky angels audio channels are radio stations. Last time I checked it pulled in a signal strength of 70-80 on 61.5.

I am pretty sure this is a software issue with these channels as the 501 pulls them in just fine. The channels are 9750-9780.

I have the same problem. I called Dish several months ago and after hours on the phone still no audio Sky angel channels. They said they would note and I would get a call back but have never received any call. I have been hoping that one of the new software upgrades would help but no luck. I have l107 and still no audio. My other receiver get them fine. I'm thinking that because Sky angel audio channels don't have the title moving on the screen that some how the receiver doesn't recognise the channel.

Has anyone contacted Sky Angel about the problem? I know it's a Dish receiver, Dish satellite and Dish uplink, but Sky Angel is a separate and independent DBS company. THEY are the ones that need to work with Dish to fix the problem for their customers.

I wonder if this is a similar problem like the blackout problem with adult channel on 721.

Did that get fixed and did this Sky Angel get fixed on this latest 1.07 software update?

Yes this is a known bug and is being addressed. There is no audio on the 4 Digit Channel numbers as well as the Arabic audio channels.

When this problem was found Dish decided to release the software anyways due to the low number of people it effects, If they would have fixed it it would have been at least another 30 - 40 days before this software was released.

Because they promised the software by Christmas and because it effected less the 1 percent of the 721 owners they decided to release it.

I am told they already have a fix and it is in testing.

Seems like it affects only the encrypted audio channels.
