I think 94/95 is MPEG2 just like ESPNHD but the UCLA game looked fantastic on 94 tonight. Some reported that it looked even better on 640, which would be an MPEG4 spot beam.
Will ESPN's HD improve to MPEG4 with D10 and will all the other HD channels look as good as the UCLA game did tonight? If so, then D* will have a few very satisfied customers.

I find that ESPN's HD is nothing compared to anything that appears on 94 or 95. Not sure why, but there is a distinct difference...

Not sure if this applies to 94/95 but when STO HD is on 96 it is in MPEG-4. I bet 94/95 is also MPEG-4 if you are seeing a distinct difference.

94 and 95 are MPEG2.
96 and any RSN HD found on its "regular" channel are MPEG4.
just wait ESPN an ESPN 2 "should" be available in MPEG 4 on 209/209 and it "should" not be bit starved.
discovery HD last night in MPEG 4 looked amazing.
