So I'm out for the evening, come back, it's 1:45 AM, and discover there's an 019E out for the HR20 (with 15 min's to go in the CE window!) as well as the 9300/9301 test channels on the air. Aaaaargh!

I've been D10 ready for days: 480, 481, 498 all OK on H20-600 (2038) and HR20-700 (019A at the time of first tests). I checked 498 numerous times, so obviously both HR20 tuners were seeing the info page.

Then comes last night's 9300/9301, and I can't receive either test channel on HR20 Tuner 2. (By this time I'm on FW 019D) I go back and test 480 and 481 again, and now I'm getting failures on Tuner 2. So I replaced the Rev. 2 BBC with another I had, and suddenly everything's OK again and I'm watching 9300/9301 on either tuner.

What the heck's going on here? This makes me want to chuck all my Rev. 2 BBC's in favor of Rev. 3's. I don't think the FW ver.'s had anything to do with this problem. One of 'em just quit, plain and simple. I'm gonna pop this bad one open and see what's inside.

Just go to Directv.com/bbc and order a couple new ones. They're free and they'll be there in a couple of days.

FWIW, my Rev 1 and Rev 2 BBCs all worked fine last night (yes, I'm a geek and I checked).

Figured out that this is definitely the cause of my "searching for signal on sat 2" issue. I simply switched the inputs and now it's a "searching for signal on sat 1" issue. Hopefully my new BBC will show up by the time the channels go live.

Yeah, thanks, I knew about that, LL. One question though: did yours come USPS or some other method? To your service address or your billing address? In my case, it makes a difference.

Well, I was getting a 771 on 498 yesterday with a Rev 3. I switched it with a Rev 2 from my H20 and it solved the problem. Now I get a black screen.

I thought I had a BBC problem with the ch.499 test went live so I ordered new ones. Turns out it was a multiswitch issue. But mine came about three days after I ordered them via FedEx. My service and billing address are the same so I can't help you on that score. I did not have to sign for them.

Just to add to the mess, I personally had one act wacky.

Passed all tests, 499,498 etc. But under signal strenght screen, all 0's. Switched inputs and the problem followed it. Grabbed a spare BBC and all was well. Go figure.
