Hello,

I'm looking for information on the "low speed data" port on RCA DirecTv receivers. I would like to use it for changing channels.

I have 4 receivers in my basement used for the NFL Ticket, I'd like to use a computer for changing channels on individual receivers (the IR remote changes all at one time!).

Any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks,
Bill

I haven't used it myself but it seems to be what you want.

The other thing that would work is a specialized 'zoned' IR system run by computer. It would only send the IR commands to the specific receiver requested.

But since the receivers have data ports already, I think the serial control util might be the fastest and cheapest way to control a stack of receivers.

Is there anything like this that you can get for Dish Network receivers in which do not have the data port on them?

I'm using an Actisys IR-200L IR transmitter connected to my HTPC that changes channels on my 4900.
