I can receive the Nashville spotbeam here in SE TN, but I am only receiving a signal on TP 6 of around 75 or 76, however from the map at echostarknowdgebase I see TP 4 is on that beam too, however I get a 0 signal their, I asume Louisville will be on TP4. why am I getting a 75-76 signal on TP6 but a 0 on TP4? I am guessing that if my info is true and Chattanooga is added in the 2Q of 03, it will likely be on the same spotbeam with Nashville and Louisville, will a 75 0r 76 signal be enough for E* to place my locals there without a lot of rain fade problems when most of my National channels are on transponders with 100+ signal strengths? I am gussying that TP4 has not bin fired up yet and suspect that if Chattanooga is added the channels will be split between TP6 and 4 on the spotbeam and possibly a couple of channels on 61.5?

From what I can figure, each transponder on a "spot" can be tweaked a little to cover slightly different areas. My guess though is that you will be best serve by the Carolinas' slot which hasn't been turned on yet.
And 61.5° is getting pretty darned full! I know Dish has some additional transponders they could use, but the satellite itself is damaged and isn't supposed to be able to fire up more transponders than are working right now.

I'm not one to talk, but... :)
Bin = what you put stuff in.
Been = a form of the verb "Be"
Bean = What you eat with chili
There = not here
Their = belonging to them
They're = short for "They Are"
Then = Not now
Than = Better this THAN that.

Will the Carolina beam reach Chattanooga, I live just 4 or 5 miles from the GA line inside TN, however both NC and AL are less then one hour away depending on direction.

The Carolinas/Georgia beam will probably spill about halfway across Tennessee and into Alabama

I hope you are correct, this would place Chattanooga in the middle of that beam and is the likely place that Chattanooga locals would go. My only question is why I have not seen this Spotbeam on the E7 or E8 spotbeam maps that I have seen? On the maps I have seen, Chattanooga seams to be on the edge of two spotbeams or nearly missed by others. How accurate are these maps?
