View Full Version : Look what showed up on my activity list!
I was on the D* Web site, viewing activity since my last payment, and three new posts appeared -- Sports HD, Cinemax HD, and Starz HD. I called D* and the person I talked to said that this just was for accounting purposes, in preparation for the launch of the new HD channels. Premier customers will not see any extra charges for these channels.

These have been reported for a couple of weeks now.

Others have also seen this, the CSR is right, it's just prep for the new channels. All is well.

Guess I've been out of the loop!
Direct just posted my bill online.
I have a double entry for:
HD Access Monthly 9.99
HD Access Monthly 9.99
Bill date was the 23rd.
Then on my recent activity ( not on the bill) there is a charge back for $9.32
Looks like Direct is diffently doing some billing switching.

You're lucky that was all that was doubled. Not only were all my services double charged, but I was also charged once for each of the types of packages they have (FAMILY, TOTAL CHOICE, HD DVR, PREMIER, etc...) I was charged over $500. Fortunately I called, got through immediately and they took care of me instantly.
Methinks their billing system took a crap on my account when they upgraded it. Everyone should check their accounts carefully over the next month or so to make sure they get it correct.

There's a difference between 'activity' and actually having your credit card charged for double the amount. My account had all kinds of activity, but when the bill came due a few days ago all the activity was reversed at the time the bill was generated. So my actual bill was exactly what I was expecting.
I wouldn't go calling CSRs just because there's activity on your account. It would probably just do more damage you'll have to clean up later...

No, I wouldn't suggest calling just because of "activity" on your account if you're being charged the correct amount in the end. But, in my case, it was seriously messed up and I was charged (as in transaction made to my CC) over 3 times the correct billing amount. (I was charged the full amount and a partial month amount on each type of programming package they offer, SIMULTANEOUSLY, to the tune of about $500. Obviously that's not right as it isn't even possible to have more than one base programming package on one account. )
I'm just suggesting that you check your bottom line to ensure that it is correct. :)
