I dont want new channels showing up on my favorites however it would be nice if one could add a channel to a favorites without goign through all the work.

Trust me you don't want them to add channels to your fav lists.

They screw with the DirecTiVo "channels you receive" list all the time and I got so tired of deleting channels I didn't want I finally gave up. They add the stupid PPV channels and the DTV channels all the time.

Very annoying.

They're not screwing it, it's just the way that the software works. They shuffle channels around all the time, and the Tivos pick that up as a new channel. This is probably part of the reason they didn't put this feature on the new receivers.

Up Lift TV is a religious channel. They play it on BTN when they aren't showing football.

but then IF DTV added NEW channels automatical to favorites, then you
(A) wouldn't have to go through all the work or wait till someone lets you know about the new channels

{B} you would know about the new channel & be able to remove it if you didn't want it.

Quoted for Truth. You really really really don't want them arbitrarily adding new channels to your favorites list. Every time there is a new sports package available, or ppv event, or any random crap they decide to throw into the lineup, I have to go back and edit my favorites list. It is insanely frustrating.

oh ok, DIDN't think abut the PPV or sports channels being added, you right about that part of it.IF it comes down to adding all new channels to favorites or none, I'll choose to leave it the way it is now
