Only problem is that they would make taking data off of the PVR just a little bit easier. Supposedly (the rumor is) on a TiVo you can take the drive out and put it in a PC and get that pristine copy of the program out to the masses. But it is such a pain to do that, many don't. But with a drive like this, It might be easier/more convenient. The Movie companies would freak and sue as they usually do.

The very first ReplayTV units have firewire, supposedly for storage expansion, but it was never activated.
