Why aren't those built into the recievers? I mean, since it doesn't hinder SD programming, those who don't subscribe to HD wouldn't notice a difference. And for those of us with HD, they wouldn't have to worry about us not having them installed properly. Is there a good reason they went with having this be an external add on?

The aren't needed with the new SWM's coming out.

I believe it is cost. Build them in and they go bad a new receiver is needed. External is a quick and cheaper replacement.
