tuner 2 dies with BBC connected

no matter what i do when i have the BBCs' connected i loose tuner two. i have swapped the lines while leaving bbcs' in place, i have swapped the bbcs' between the tuners, i have taken the bbc off of tuner 2 and left the the bbc on tuner 1 and tuner two is still dead. basically if i have a bbc on tuner one i loose tuner 2. any suggestions? it is driving me crazy. i am missing all kinds of shows due to this. :mad: :mad: :mad: :mad: :mad: :mad:

ps the tuner that does work receives all test channels no problem

I have a similar problem with my tuner 2 on the HR20-100. I've tried multiple b-band converter/ line swapping combos and every time I get transponder strengths that dip much lower than on tuner 1, sometimes 0. The problem even hops back and forth between transponders on the 101 and the 110 satellite, either the one or the other has abnormally low transponder strengths on certain transponders depending on the time of day I check. I have even tried resetting the receiver and redownloading the software.

I am experiencing the same thing with tuner 2. Tech came by today & realigned the dish & now at least tuner one is getting a 90ish rating on the 103b. But at this point, both tech & D* are telling me I should be all set when the new HD channels go live.

Is this possible or is a reading on the 103b, for BOTH tuners mandatory?

if you take bbcs off does yours work fine other than not being to receive all new test channels

Sounds like a short in one of the feeds to me, try using just one wire at a time and pass it between both tuners, check results then check both tuners with the other cable and see if you get one wire to show 0's. If you do find one wire that does check ends and replace if you can.

i have had this systemup for a year without bbcs' never ever a problem. no shorts as soon as i hooked up the bbcs' that is when this started. i have tried everything. i do not think it is the bbcs' because i can swap the bbcs' between tuners and only tuner one will work. no matter which bbc i use tuner one always works tuner 2 does not.

does it matter which wires from the dish are connected to certain inputs on multiswitch. i have four dvrs' 3 tivo units and one hr20 everything has always worked and still does. it is just the tuner 2 problem only with bbcs installed.
