I have a customer that I installed a year and a half ago. 8 total outlets. Originally 2 outlets had cable/sat, the other 6 had cable only. 2 weeks ago, I installed an 8-way powered switch to give sat. capabilities to all outlets. My problem is this. Since I installed the switch, the 3 sets with Sat/cable seem to make a popping noise. When it pops, the volume immediately lowers drastically and gradually raises to a normal level. It seems to happen very frequently.
Now, on to my troubleshooting.
The problem occurs when the receivers are OFF. I have tried it with all 3 feeds AND power disconnected from the switch. I installed a new switch, same thing. Voltages out of each Rx are fine. TV's are 3 different makes as well as Rx's. Electrical wiring in the house is new, all drops are new, all equipment is new except 2 Rx's but were in proper working order. All equipment is properly grounded and nothing seems to be out of the ordinary. I have conferred with others and niether of us have a clue what it could be.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Oh yeah, before I forget. The problem goes away when Rx's are powered up. Makes no sense!
Thanks in advance.<!-- Signature -->:confused:
