Hello, I am a Dish customer but I have a D question. A friend of mine has D and one receiver (don't know model #), hooked up to one of the outs of a 4 to 4 switch, which of course is setup with the oval dish.
The switch just quick working, if he bypasses the switch he gets Sat 101.
I told him before he gets a new switch try and do a check switch, maybe something caused the receiver to lose that info. He said he couldn't find anything that said check switch. Does D have this on their receivers like E does??
If so is it in a different menu then point dish..
He has also tried the other outs of the switch without any luck..
thanks

Yes, and no. Each receiver make has subtle differences, so the way I get to the equivalent menu on my UTV's is diffrent from RCA, hughes, etc. We would need you to post what type of receiver he has before we could be much help.

If he tried his other switch outputs with no luck, it does sound like the switch fried out. If he is paying for maintenance, or if the equipment is >90 days old, D* customer service should be able to help him. If not, I know dishepot.com has switches for sale for decent prices.

Hope this helps in some way...
