My sat signals on 103b seem to have gone up by a few points when the new hd channels went up today. Anybody else notice this?

Mine are still the same.

These were mine last night:

95 94 92 94 92 95 91 95
95 95 93 95 95 95 na na
96 na na na na 95

If they've gone up any I'd be ecstatic. :p

yes.

I posted a thread about it yesterday. Last week my signals on 103b were high...mostly 80's and some 90's.

Monday night they were awful...I even had a couple breakups on 9300/01 and was in 50's and 60's.

This morning, with heavy clouds and some distant rain in the area, I was getting everything above 76. I would imagine on a clear day I'll be rockin'.

What's the signal strength cutoff for D* to send a tech out to do a realignment under my new install coverage?

I heard generally they don't want to talk to you unless its less than 65 for the highest tp.

My installer just set up our new 5LNB dish about a week and a half ago. At the time, there were no signals on 103. This morning, I'm receiving the new HD channels, but I've noticed that at times I lose signal on a couple of the channels. I checked my signal strenghts on 103b and they're as follows:
1= 89%, 2=37%, 3=77%, 4=60%, 5=83%, 6=63%, 7=80%, 8=72%, 9=82%, 10=78%, 11=85%, 12=76%, 13=86%, 14=84%, 17=94%, 22=96%.

Some of the transponders (esp. 2) seem a bit low. Are these signal strengths normal or should I have the installer come out and tweak the dish? My other satellites (101, 110, 99 & 95) are all in the 70's to 90s.

Crappy install unless your dish is partially obstructed by leafy trees or something. My signals are generally 96 - 100 on 101 (10 of them are 100s), upper 90s - 100 on 110 and 119, mid-upper 90's on 99b where I get my locals, and 91 - 95 on 103b as of last night. Your signals should be MUCH higher than that on 103b and especially 101.

I was just watching all of the new HD channels and decided to see my 103(b) signal strength, and boy was I surprised. My 101 numbers are mid-80's and 90's, but my 103(b) signals are mid-30's to 40's. The new HD channels, however, look great and have no pixellation or anything. Much ado about nothing?

You are ok till you get some rain clouds I would call D* for an alignment

I have heard 60 and above but I would just tell them you are in the 50's and sometimes they spike up so that when they come out you can say yes this does happen but they also go down into the 50's at least that is what I am going to do.

They told me 60 is the bottom number.
