First off, I'd REALLY like to THANK Earl, Doug, Tom, Stewart, and Carl for EVERYTHING they have done contributing, guiding, hand holding, patience, etc., etc., and just being all-round NICE guys...and everyone else who participates in this forum.

Why? Because I finally figured out what my problem (771) was with all of the recent testing. I had a bad cable. :bang I've since replaced the offending cable and now everything is coming in like it's supposed to.

THANK YOU!

Being in the IT profession, I've found that the cable is more often than not the culprit. The next biggest one .. check the power ;)

Really glad to hear that your up and running. Looks like the new channels are gonna be awesome.

I'm also in the IT profession. About twice a year I ask:

"Did you hit Enter?"

"OOOOHHHHH! Thanks! It works now"

Those are red-letter days.

Sounds like a hard hat momment (since your banging your head on the wall above).

Congrats on getting it sorted out.

One of the most important people I knew growing up had two pieces of advice to impart to me. The one I will tell you is, "99% of the problem with everything is the cable."

No harm done, as long as you replaced the cable and you're happy. Enjoy!

Well, my former mantra used to be RTFM...As an IT person, I dismissed that one pretty hastily:

1. Windows software doesn't come with manuals; documentation is a lost art.
2. (L)users don't seem to be able to read even if they did have a manual

If the (L)user in question says that they have a manual, I ask them to bring it to me so I can read it to them.

I can't count how many times someone has unplugged a fiber/phone line/printer cable in an effort to remedy a software (or wetware) problem.
