We have 1 H20 in the house (along with a D10 and 2 R15's). The BBC has been connected to it since we got it a year and a half ago. AT9 dish in the backyard. 4 cables from the dish to a Zinwell WB68 multiswitch and then into the house to the various boxes.

Signals on satellite 101 are in the 70's at best (ok definitely low there). On Sat. 103B all the odd transponders are only in the 20's. All the evens are 0 except sometimes transponder 14 responds with a strength in the 20's. Channel 480 comes back with the BBC being ok, 481 says searching for signal. Chanel 498 comes in. It is sometimes ok, sometimes has pixelation. If I start flipping through the new HD channels sometimes I get a picture, sometimes I get searching for signal.

We've been getting the old HD channels without issues (including our locals) but obviously the dish needs to be tweaked. Does it look like there might be a problem with the bbc too? Or just the dish being out of alignment? thanks!!

Your dish needs to be realigned regardless if your BBC is bad. Current HD channels do not come from 103B which is why those numbers haven't effected you thus far. Your numbers should atleast be in the 80's when it gets realigned. If your technical/mechanical at all, its not too difficult to do yourself.

If you have the latest h20 firmware It is alignment. There was a update a little while back that improved signal strength readings but even if you don't have the update those look low.

I had the same thing going on with the 103b as far as signal strength and 480 working and 481 not, etc.

Earl was hinting yesterday to be ready, so I worked on realigning the dish last night. The mast was not plumb and when I checked the signal strengths after it was plumb, everything was zero. Everywhere, all 5 satellites. D'oh!!!!

But I had faith and followed the instructions for tuning in the best signal. When I was done, I had 80s for 103b on all transponders. Woo hoo!!!!!

Shortly after we got the dish we improved the alignment some so I know it's not that hard but right now life is crazy (getting ready to go out of town to visit friends before my husband ships to Iraq in 3 weeks). Since we have the protection plan it's easier right now to have a Directv tech mess with it, I just want to be informed when they get here so they don't b.s. me around.

As far as the lastest software, it *should* have the latest national release but I haven't double checked it.

Thanks for the info everyone
