View Full Version : Channel Categories only lists "All Channels"

Mine rebooted and now I don't have any of the MPEG4 HD channels. They don't appear in the guide (All Channels selected) and I cannot tune directly to them!

Ugh.

103b signals are still strong on both tuners. Did a menu reset and there was no change.

I'd rather it wasn't locked since my post wasn't a "me too" post and I'm having an issue. Of course nobody has responded... yet.

Maybe one of your filters reset? Make sure you go to favorites in the menu and set it to all.

The favorites are set to All Channels. When I go to the Categories, there is only one category there.

Nothing else is listed..............It used to have all the various categories?!?!?!
My wife & I were watching our HR20 last night @ 3am CST and the DVR did a cold reboot and then we went to bed thinking nothing of it. Then this morning everything is all messed up and the "Channel Categories" have all been deleted, except the top header which reads ALL CHANNELS. Where did all the other 'headers' go?!?!?!:(

This was working fine last night before the cold reboot. All I see is the channel grid and hit guide again and it only lists "ALL CHANNELS" no other sub-categories are listed now....................

Try a restart via the menu.

Menu...Help&Settings...Setup...Reset.....Receiver...."-" to proceed

I have the same problem on my -700 after a CE; but haven't reset it yet to see if the Channel Cateogories return. I'll get to it at some point, as the Hide SD option works well for me now.

Sorry, I came to this party late. Is anyone still having problems from the HR20 reboots this week?

I split this thread apart from the merged reboot threads so we can follow up on problems.

Thanks,
Tom

A note...

Problems with "Grey's Anatomy" are not thought to have been due to reboots :)

I have the same problem...no subcategories...just "all channels".

I have to believe it must be DTV doing some maintenance... I am not going to worry about it... It'll fix itself soon I am certain...

I you press GUIDE a second time, do you get the categories? The GUIDE button is being reversed on receivers, first push will now be either all channels or your favorites. Second push will become the categories list.

Cheers,
Tom

I will check tonight, but following the "reset receiver" procedure should return your Channel Categories.

I don't think this has anything to do with the new CE because I had the same problem yesterday with my HR20-100. Menu reset fixed it.

Tom,

I had the SAME problem yesterday with only receiving the ALL CHANNELS when hitting the guide button on both of my HR20-700s. Before calling DirecTV I did a menu reboot via the remote on both of them and the guide came up just as it should....all channels and then the categories by pressing it again.

Hope that helps!

I have two HR20s and I have two issues described in this thread, one on each. On one HR20 I get the new HD channels, but pushing the guide button twice I only see the "All Channels" option, nothing else. On my second unit it does not show any of the new HD channels in the guide, cannot tune directly to them, and a restart through the menu changed nothing. Anyone else? Ideas?

Will a menu reset clear out my settings?

Using the "Reset Recorder" option gave me back my categories, but it the HDTV Channels doesn't include all the new ones. I guess it may start picking them up as things settle in?
