View Full Version : The art of "moving"
I have a question about "moving". If I move, do I need to worry about using my remote to order PPV or anything? Won't my true phone number show up at E*???
How do I justify to them when I "move" that I want to change my address but keep my phone number the same? I want to make sure there are no complications, as don't you need to have the box plugged into a phone line to get the software updates and such?

Don't worry about changing your phone# when you move - just tell them your keeping the same phone# for the time being. They don't care about the actual # that shows up when your receiver calls in, just that ALL the receivers on the SAME account show the SAME# when they call in.

Maybe I'm dense, but if I'm moving far enough away that my distant local eligibility changes, aren't I probably moving far enough away that I can't possibly keep the same phone number?
I know for sure that if I ever move my equipment to the, uh, vacation home that I've picked out, it's in a different area code, never mind the same exchange. I just assumed that I might not add wired phone service to my vacation home (I'll bring my cell phone), so I'd just leave my receiver unplugged.

Here in NC, Local number portability is a reality - so you can move anywhere in the state and still use the same phonenumber.
