I haven't seen any press releases announcing the new HD stations are live. Why aren't they playing this up, everyone I know who has Directv and HD is thrilled by this upgrade, yet, they don't play this up with a press release. Their stock has been flat since the release of HD stations, I would think they would hipe this up to drive up the stock price and also to get more customers?

Probably waiting until they pass DiSH with the totals. Sometime in October.

I think the word of mouth is already building. You'll see a huge press push, but just like when the HR20 was introduced, the buzz was so great that the customer service department had to work hard to keep up, and it was months before they had to start advertising.

Who needs a press-release, when you can go to Home Depot and find out about it...

Excellent point. I bet Circuit City will jump on it too.

Or making sure that everyone who's supposed to get D*'s HD is getting it.

Word of mouth (and Earl's Home Depot find ) are good sources of advertisement .. and the word of mouth method isn't really costing DIRECTV a lot of money right now.

+1 !rolling I don't think D is big on press releases. How often have you turned on your TV or come to this Forum and found out that D had a new channel you didn't know anything about? It sure has happened to me
