Now that my diplexers are gone and the new HD channels come in, I have a question.
Anyone notice that it takes the new HD channels a few seconds to load, the picture freezes momentarily and then plays fine?
I never had this happen on the HD channels in the 70's and 90's.
Is this a resolution issue?
I'm running at native "off" and enabling 720 and 1080.
I have the HR20-700.
Thanks!
I got the same with my hr20-100.
I see that on both my HR20-100 and -700, I was guessing it was the BBC kicking in. That is purely a guess though.

I noticed this during the testing, but I think it's normal. When I compared it to the lag time on the existing HD channels, there really wasn't a difference. Could it possibly be due to more resolution info to process?

Mine are a little slow on HR20-100. However about the same between anychannel w/ native off. If I turn Native on take alot longer and does the million colored pix thing. This could be on my tv becuase I am using HDMI w/ a Phillips 42" plasma model 42PF9631D/37. I also have an HR10 via HDMI does the same thing when I switch inputs to it, or goes pink.

It's the nature of MPEG4 encoding. The compression codec is more efficient, but the tradeoff is that it takes more processing time to encode and decode.

I've noticed the same thing and another weird thing is that I when I am watching a new HD channel, then switch to another channel, when I switch channels again, the screen flashes and momentarily I see an image of the new HD channel again. It is kind of like it flashes by what is on the other tuner when I change channels, but I have only noticed it since the new HD launched.
