View Full Version : SundayTicket/Superfan Week #5 [FINAL VERSION]
NFL SundayTicket/Superfan Schedule
Attached is the NFL Schedule customized for DIRECTV's SundayTicket and Superfan subscribers. As always, Red highlight games are 1080i, Blue highlight games are 720p broadcasts. The keyword "Final Version" in the Title is your signal that the schedule is complete and ready for your download and customization. The "preview" or "in-work" keywords in the Title mean there are still updates to be made.
Time Zone Schedules
Attachments are provided for each Time Zone; please note the attachment names to download the correct PDF for your time zone.
Customize your Schedule
The PDF schedules are formatted with the ‘typewriter tool’ enabled, so you can edit in the channel numbers for the games provided by your local affiliates.
SundayTicket and Superfan Broadcasts
The rightmost columns of the SundayTicket Section provide the SundayTicket SD assignments [Channels 704 through 717] and the Superfan HD assignments [Channels 719 through 727]. If any entries in these columns are blank, they will be updated when DIRECTV announces the assignments.
National Game Broadcasts
You will need to pencil in, or edit in, your LIL (Local-Into-Local) CBS, FOX and NBC channel numbers for your local stations. In most cases (the rules are complex), DIRECTV is required to blackout a SundayTicket and/or Superfan game that duplicates programming offered by your local CBS or FOX affiliate.
Regional Game Broadcasts
Using TV Distribution Maps, you will know in advance which regional games your local CBS and FOX affiliates will be carrying and you can pencil, or edit in, those updates on the schedule. A link at the top of each Weekly Schedule (or_this_link (http://www.the506.com/nflmaps/)) takes you to the website providing NFL TV Game Distribution Maps for both CBS and FOX. When your local affiliate broadcasts a game, DIRECTV is obligated to black it out on SundayTicket and Superfan (if your LIL offers HD) in your DMA. The DMA Maps are updated during the week preceding the games.
Local Game Broadcasts
Remember, NFL blackout rules apply: if a home game isn’t sold out, your local station and DIRECTV are required to black out that live game in your home DMA.

This is a preview for those of you who are already looking forward to next week.
This schedule is not complete:
- Superfan-HD channel assignements are not available
- The TV Distribution Maps are not available
- Time Zone specific schedules are not available
When this thread's title changes to "Final Version", that's the clue to download the schedule and customize it with your local channels and blackouts.

CBS is so stupid. The Jags vs. Chiefs game is in SD yet it is one of the better match-ups this week. Better combined records and teams on a roll (4-1 in last 5 combined). Yet CBS puts the best teams in HD right?? Funny!

I agree but I guess we have to take our turn as a small market team. Maybe all the rest will be in HD.

CBS's logic on which games are in HD for the week is out of wack. It's pathetic they can't supply every game in HD every week.

The Browns and Ravens game was in SD here in DC yesterday. I was not so much upset about that as I was the fact that Kevin Harlan (my favorite announcer) was calling the game. I thougt "OH NO! They've lowered Harlan to last place on the totem pole... below Ian Eagle and Rich Gannon!!! He's been banished to SD hell!!!
It made no sense to me because he had been calling HD games in the previous weeks. So I thought his production crew unit was equipped with HD.
And then the highlights from the Browns and Ravens game on NBC's Football Night in America were in high def! And they had CBS logos on them! What is going on??!? CBS must have had the capability to get the HD production from the stadium to the headquarters, but then not enough bandwidth to get that HD signal from there to the affiliates?!?
jasonblair --
You are absolutely correct - the CBS limitations are "infrastructure", not HD trailers onsite at the game. CBS is limited at their Hub operation and has limitations with enough pipe capacity to pump the signal around the country.
The truth is, most of the profoundly expensive on-site equipment is not owned by the networks. They 'rent' the vans on a pre-scheduled basis from companys that provide that service. The actual, physical vans used by CBS this week may be doing a game for NBC next week.
There have been several great threads about all this, here on DBSTALK.com

I agree. All games should be in HD.
As far as announcers go, the worst thing is watching your team struggle like my Steelers did and listening to Dan Dierdork speaking, he is even worse than Madden and Madden is the bottom of the barrell.

I feel you! One Browns game in HD this year. Just one! Now lets see what they do since the Browns are playing the Pats. I bet they put it in HD.
I dont understand why all football games cant be in HD. Just dont get it.

They pick the games that 'they think" will be the most watched. they're not always right but thats their goal.

Absolutly PATHETIC CBS! You know, you don't really feel the pain until your team is hit with the old CBS HD DENIED bug. Ouch, im feeling a little queezy! Oh, well... Hopefully we'll continue to win and CBS will CONTINUE to air us in HD! GO CHIEFS!

Did all you guys pay the $99 to upgrade? I already paid a bunch for sunday ticket, when I saw the HD was an additional $99 I was really pissed. Seems very unfair to charge more, especially when most of the channels are sourced in HD and the extra work is to down convert them to SD for retransmission.

where is this weeks finalized schedule?
I need it :(
Just updated the four time-zone schedules. This is the "Final Version". The TV Distribution Maps are now also complete!
Now is the time to download and customize the Week #5 Schedule.
Sorry the Jags@Chiefs is alone in SD hell this week. Next week, the Dolphins@Browns return to SD hell once again.

It looks like the Chiefs/Jaguar game is being broadcast in HD. I wonder why Directv isn't carrying it in HD?

Just did a sanity check with the CBS Schedule website here (http://www.sportsline.com/cbssports/schedules/page/nfl). They don't show Chiefs/Jags in HD.
However, the usually very-reliable HDSports Guide here (http://www.hdsportsguide.com/nfl.php), does show that game in HD.
Someone is wrong....
New here!! Gonna order Sunday ticket and wanted to know what you all think of it.. Who do they have doing the commentating during the games.. Love a good game but cant stand bad commentators.. Thanx!

Thank goodness for mute buttons. I can't remember the last game I listened too on Sunday Ticket. I do enjoy Gus Johnson and can tolerate a few others but generally mute the games on both TVs.
Sunday Ticket is wonderful. I've had it for over 10 years and the HD option makes it even better. It's Directv's meal ticket. They need to tend to the other packages in similar manners now that they have the bandwith.

Isn't DTV supposed to black out a game on ST that is available locally, even if it's only available in SD? Last week I game I wanted to watch in HD and was broadcast locally, was available on ST.
Is this an oversight? Can I expect this to happen on a regular basis (getting the game on ST, that is)?

Both CBS and DIRECTV show the game in SD only.
One possible answer: the game may be recoreded in HD but only shown in HD in that local market. Remember: CBS's achilles heel is a lack of "infrastructure" - that is, the ability to handle HD signals in their control center and the bandwidth in their backbone pipes to backhaul or distribute the signal to the affiliates. I fear this is the case.
I agree man, this ticks me off as well.
Ditto.
Question: Rams/Big Red game in st. louis will be blacked out; will I be able to see the game on my HD package ?

Now 719 has the Pats/Browns and 726 is nothing. No sign of Dolphins/Texans or Jags/Chiefs. They either just cut a game this week or are planning on swithcing to Jags/Chiefs (I could only hope).

Now I am thinking they just cut the Phins/Texans game and are not replacing it based on the DTV website and menu guide. The only prayer it seems would be to have the chiefs/jags game on local CBS HD but if they are doing it local why not national for all viewers??? So confusing

Hopefully Jags/Chiefs will end up being in HD. It only makes perfect sense. Let's see, Miami has yet to win, they are horrific! Houston is a good team but they are still the latest expansion team. The Chiefs and Jags are both coming off big wins on the road and both have 2 wins. Yet the SD/DEN game will be in HD, the two teams who lost the last two weeks in a row (KC over SD and Denver lost to JAX in Denever two weeks ago). But I guess those are bigger markets...Pffft! Total BS!
Why does it say the Dolphins-Texans game is on HD channel 719 and my guide shows that it will be brodcast in SD only on 704?
My dolphins aren't worth an HD brodcast this year, but its still nice for those hardcore enough to stick around for a 2-3 win (maybe) season.

They should Cut TNT and all the duplicate Mpeg 2 channels. This is ridiculous. They can't even use the excuse that it's CBS. It's totally D* THIS IS THE FIRST TIME I AM ABSOLUTELY PISSED OFF WITH DIRECT TV. $358 should get me a game if it's being broadcast in HD
Yes, probably bandwidth because the ALDS game will start on 95 TBS-HD at 3 pm. They should at least put in on mpeg4 for some to see.
