Is anyone using Dish ala carte via a cable TV system? This is being offered by the new cable system that is setting up in our community. The deal is that you pay 2.95 per month to the cable operator for access and then have the ability to order pay-per-view from Dish.
This an analog cable system. I couldn't get all the technical details but was told that a single coax from the cable system is connected to a Dish receiver thru a "down converter" added at the back of the receiver.
You have to have Dish receivers, which I already have.
Three main questions:
How is the ala-carte service?
With my Dish 501 will I still be able to record both Dish and the cables systems programming?
Do you still get the full Dish EPG? I realize that this would not be applicable to the cable system programming.
Thanks.....
