I ordered the commdeck mount, but have not had a chance to install it. My install appointment is later this week. What are the chances the installer would be willing to install the commdeck mount while installing a new dish?

Also, how do I ensure the dish will point over my roof to see all of the satellites (I'm in Dallas). I'm not sure what angles the dish needs to reach.

Finally, how far do the support arms go out from the main support? My current dish is about a foot from the bottom of my roof. I don't think I'll have enough room to intall the new dish is the same spot, but wasn't sure.

Thanks for any help!

The Comdeck installs like a can vent. I doubt if the installer will have the tools or the roofing skills needed to install it.

It would be much easier just to screw the dish mount onto the roof deck with at least two screws into a rafter.

In Dallas clear line of sight involves clear path from 170 degrees to 190 degrees azimuth and 45 degrees to 80 degrees in elevation.

Secondly, the best installation of a KAKU 5lnb dish is directly onto the roof with 2 monopoles. The foot having at least 2 lags into rafters and the monopoles having all 4 lags into the rafters.
Installers are not trained in every mounting technique i.e. commdecks, if you are wanting to use the commdeck have it installed before the technician arrives. Most probably he will not install it for you.

How did you come up with this info? I live in Chicago and I'm thinking about doing a Post Mount and need to know if the house nextdoor will be a problem.

Is there a website which will calculate the location of the sat. in the sky from my location?

Thank you,
