Is there a way to determine which tuner is being used for a program? I had major problems last night, and trying to determine if I could have handled them better. I'll try to recreate what happened, and hope to get it close.

7:00 PM - Chuck and How I Met Your Mother set to record off the sat
7:30 PM - Aliens in America set to record off antenna
8:00 PM - K-Ville and Heroes set to record off sat
9:00 PM - CSI Miami and Journeyman set to record off sat
10:00 PM - O'Reilly Factor set to record off sat

Finished watching something else, watched How I Met your Mother, was on List and hit a couple of buttons, and I think maybe got the channel down button instead of back. What I wanted to end up doing was to start watching Heroes. Had 771 error, searching for signal on sat 1. 771 info said to reset the box. I didn't want to do that since Heroes was on and that's the one thing I didn't want to miss out of all the stuff being recorded. So I canned K-Ville, switched Heroes to the antenna, recorded that and luckily only missed the first few minutes.

Next, tried to watch Chuck but just had a black screen. Deleted that one, changed the 9:00 PM shows to record off antenna. At 10:00 PM, checked out O'Reilly and had the 771 error on it. So I rebooted from the menu. After the reboot I restarted the O'Reilly recording and added a second random recording to make sure both sat tuners were OK. They were.

It worked out OK, although I liked Chuck last week so I'm kind of disappointed to have missed it. But getting most of Heroes makes me feel better, anyway. CSI Miami is pretty good, but I can do without all those other shows.

This is the second time I've had to reset the HR20 in the 2 weeks I've had it. The first time was when it stopped responding to anything but the red button. Should I consider asking for a replacement, or just wait it out and see what happens?

So, any wise words from you long-term users for an HR20 newbie?

The answer to your question, is no. There's no way to tell on a particular recording. However, if you think you're having problems with a particular tuner, I'd check signal strengths (Menu>Help&Settings>Setup>Sat&Ant) on both tuners, on every transponder of every satellite and see if they're similar. Expect a 2-3 point difference, but not a whole lot more than that.
