My DP301 continously is dialing out about every 2 1/2 min. The phone line is OK that is how it was detected by hearing it trying to dial while on the phone. Has any on ever had this problem or know how to correct it?

Is it sharing a line with DSL? If so, you'll likely need a line filter ($10 a RatShack, or $0 from any decent telco).
Also, go into the menu and find diagnostics and it "Dial out". It will, well, dial out ;) and let you know what's going on (handshake failure, busy, etc)
TopCat, there is no DSL, Diagonists does not show a problem, but it continues to dial out every 2 1/2min. May have to call CSR on this.

Try disconnecting the phone line and see what happens then. If it still happens then call Dish for a replacement. If you went through a local retailer and it has been within 90 days he will come out and do it for free and Dish will reimburse him if he participates in that.
