I can't seem to find anywhere if it is possible to bookmark a recorded program you're watching from the DVR. If I am 2/3 rd's the way thru a recorded program and have to leave somewhere or want to finish it later, can I bookmark it so it starts back where I left off. The R-15 with D* did this and I hope the 722 does also.
It will occur automatically. The next time you select the recording you will have a Resume button you can select instead of the Start Over button.

Thank you. It is that simple, my problem was when my program was highlighted, I would press the play button instead of select, so it would then just play from the beginning again.

There is no Bookmark feature to let you quickly find a favorite scene, only Resume which continues from where you left off.

Additionally, the Resume option only becomes available *after* the recording is completed. Resume is greyed-out if you leave and return to a recording still in progress.

Note to anyone from Dish who is listening: not being able to "Resume" a program in progress is a major, major problem. One of the selling points of a DVR is the ability to start recording a program, wait a while, then start watching the program, thereby being able to skip the commercials.
For example -- you start recording a football game, then after a bit, start watching. However, inevitably you will catch up with live TV. What to do? Well, the obvious choice is to watch something else, until you get ahead of the curve again. So you might catch a little CSI, but eventually you go back to the program being recorded.
Two problems: 1) The program returns to LIVE, probably showing you the touchdown you didn't want to see yet. 2) After you recover from your disappointment at learning the results of the play, you decide to go back and watch what you missed. Damn, where did I leave off? Fast forward, fast forward, etc. Oh, did I mention that the timer above the progress bar is useless in this situation to find your place, since it is constantly counting up as the program continues to record?
Help!
I heartily agree. Even 7 years ago the DVRs from DTV could resume from any point in a recording regardless whether the recording was complete or not. This is unbelievably lame and will def effect my next service and DVR choice. Having to fast forward thru 2 hours of a football game each time you return to it is the dumbest ass thing going.
300X is NOT fast by any definition. It stutters like a spastic on crack. There are hash marks on the recrding time line, why not the ability to skip from one hash mark to the next at least.
I left E* once before because it was so lame and only came back because DTV became even worse. Nothing much has changed...except the fees.
