OK i ordered a dish 1000+ to watch a few international channels that were not as great as i had somehow thought and for better signal.
Anyway here are my readings before the install with a standard dish 1000 not 1000.2
110 1 57
110 2 67
110 4 32
119 04 62
119 03 72
119 02 64
119 01 86
129 01 39
129 02 45
129 04 53
satellite then transponder then the signal meter reading.
now with the 1000+ up here are my new readings.
110 1 59
110 2 72
110 4 30
119 04 71
119 03 63
119 02 70-74 back and forth
119 01 80
129 01 40-42
129 02 47-50
129 04 55
Ok so i am trying to figure out with a dish quite a bit bigger then my 1000 yet my signal is not much better. The other thing is we had rain today. Not heavy rain by any means and i lost my channels. some were in and out others were just gone.
This was on 110 and 119.
This happened the last time it rained too. I am use to some rain fade when its a hard rain but this just sucks.
I tried getting dish to bring me out and install a seperate antenna for 129 they showed up with a dish 300 and said i can install this but it wont make a difference and that they would not warrant it or pay for another install if this did not work.
But the installer said if i wanted to buy a bigger dish since i use to be an installer and still can buy wholesale that i could go pick up a 30" dish and then he would come back and install it for me.
Ok that is fine if that will help then great. But there still is the issue that i jumped to a bigger dish with little or no signal gain. then the rain fade issue.
any of you guys here got any ideas because i am lost.
