View Full Version : One of my tuners seems to have gone out
after less than a month.
System test shows
Tuner 1 - OK at 0%
Tuner 2 - OK at 100%
So I swapped the incoming lines on the back of the receiver and got the same result, plus both of my other receivers are working fine.
I tried the online refresh, but haven't tried the GUI reset yet. Should I try the GUI reset or red button reset before calling Customer Service?

Actually that's a normal reading. If you start a recording, then change channels to another satellite-delivered channel, start that recording, then run the system test, it should show both tuners ok with a high % signal strength.
If you can record and play back two satellite feeds, then you are ok.
The key is, the "OK". It says 0%, that's a known fact, until you actually use both tuners.
Ok . . . the other weird thing that seems to be occurring is that on my local HD channels I get a "searching for satellite" message, and the channel won't show up (this issue just started last night's thunderstorms). I run the system test and the channel shows back up.
Then I change it to another local HD channel and have to repeat the process.
I'll try to record something and then switch channels, do the test and then report back.
Thanks for the info.

Hmmm, very good info for future reference. Danke.
I did a GUI reset and it seems to have corrected the problem. I started recording something on Sci-Fi and TNT and then did the system test and got high % on both tuners.
Could the storm we had yesterday dorked something up?
Thanks for stopping me from freaking out more . . . :D
