I didn't see these issues raised anywhere, so here goes:
This pertains specifically to the new channels added this morning (Oct 3). They all seem to have exactly the same channel number as the existing SD channels (e.g., SciFiHD is 244, and so is SciFi).
The guide shows both channels having the same number.
When you change channels, it changes from HD to SD, but the channel number stays the same.
That's all fine, but the Search feature makes this absolutely suck: When trying to change my scheduled series recordings, I would search (e.g., "Psych", or "Dirty Jobs", or "Doctor Who"). The results would come up, and it would show the actual channel name. And when you select it, you're taken to a list of all upcoming shows by number, not name.
Here's where the suckage begins: The shows on these channels don't have the "HD" tag in the UI, and the channels don't show the channel names, so there's no way to tell which one is the HD version, and which is the SD version. I had to manually look at each one to find the proper version of the show to record.
Also, when asking the HR20 to record the HD version of a show I already had a series set to record for SD, it would add a new entry to the prioritizer, but the "R" indicator in the list of shows would change from the one it was on (the SD version), to the new HD series link I just set up.
So, it would seem that the scheduler doesn't deal well with me asking for two series links for the same show on the same channel number, but the prioritizer doesn't realize the old series link should be replaced. It's not consistent.
Further suckage: Some shows (e.g., Monk) have shows on the SD version of the channel, and they show at the same time in the HD version, but they're not showing up in the Search feature at all. So I have an old SD series link that I can't replace, even though there's guide data for the SD version of the show.
Are these issues going to be fixed? Not having the HD tag for the shows in HD is really confusing, as is having the HD channel having the same number as the SD channel, and not being able to distinguish between them in search results.
I'm really hoping the issue with the missing HD versions of SD shows is due to all the guide data not yet being received for the new channels, but the other two issues seem to be related to the UI design, and it's faltering with these new changes, and I think they really need to be addressed quickly.
