Does anyone think this kid is getting too much hype? Was putting this game on ESPN 2 a good choice? He is 17 years old, i just think all of this hype is too much and might ruin this kid. Seriously. Think of it....put yourself in his shoes....yea, you'd prolly be lovin it, but you know there is always such thing as too much too soon.

78 percent of the voters (30K) on espn.com think too much too soon.

what do you think?

Watched the beginning, then had to do family stuff. I also think TOO MUCH TOO SOON.

Wish him well but that is a LOT of pressure for a kid.

I think that after seeing him last night, and the fact that he is only 17 years old....he is going to be fine. It isn't too much too soon. And he is going to be good, his passing skills were amazing. I keep hearing that they are amazing for a HS kid, but I saw him make better passes than I see from almost any NBA player.

The guy pretty much, with teammates who are about the same as other private school recruited athletes, single-handedly destroyed a school with a basketball program where future division 1 players don't see the light of day. Truly amazing.

His passes, dunks, rebounding were all spectacular...

He needs to work on his defense though...there were a couple of times in the first half that his man drove right to the hole...right around Lebron. If he's gonna jump right to the NBA, his D will have to improve, and it will, I'm sure.

I can't wait to see him up against some NBA caliber players.

It would be a shame to see him skip college and go straight to the NBA (has anyone else done that - I am not a real big basketball fan- unless the Irish are rolling). It would be very interesting to me to see him play in college

Skip college - the list get longer every year.  Plenty of kids who may have wished they stayed in college but there are quite a few success stories out there.

It would be a bigger shame if he went to college and hurt his knee and never played in the NBA.  Ask Lee Evans from Wisconsin who would have been a top 1st round draft pick in the NFL last year but elected to play his senior year and blew out his knee in Wisconsin's spring game.  Never played this year and may be looking at further surgery.  Big time financial loser.
