Question about Buying D* Receivers

Before I do this, I want to make sure this is still legal. I saw some sales on EBay of D11's. Am I allowed to buy receivers via EBay and then send back the ones I'm leasing from D*? I will keep my HR20, of course, as my one no charge receiver. I figure it'll save me a few bucks a month if I do this. I've only been with D* for a little over a year so excuse what might be an obvious question.

It doesn't matter if you own or lease the receiver, you still pay a mirror charge for the programming, $4.99/month (so it won't save you anything, in fact it will cost you something: whatever you pay for the receivers + shipping from eBay).

Buying won't change your monthly charges. The lease fee is just renamed as an additional receiver fee. It would actually cost you more since you'd be out what you initially paid for the leased boxes and the amount you pay to acquire the new boxes.
