Hi folks,

I searched for info on termination tools and see some threads from last year.

Clearly things have changed since my days of crimping F connectors onto any old piece of coax to hook up the VCR....

There's now a dazzling array of blue, red purple and black compression fittings for quadshield, dual-shield cable and who knows what else.

I can't keep up.

Is there a good info source of info on all this stuff, and a good kit anyone can recommended with a variety of tools and fittings for a variety of terminating tasks?

I'm willing to pay for quality tools, but value would be nice.

Thanks,
ApK

While you can't find much in the way of specifications, EBay has always been a good source for the materials for me.

http://www.solidsignal.com/cat_display.asp?main_cat=13&CAT=Cable%20Kits is one source of equipment. You can also get a decent tool and compression fittings at Lowes or Home Depot.

Thanks for the pointers. Do y'all have any experience with the tools that do F/BNC/RCA all in one I like the idea, but only if it does each connector as well as a dedicated tool, and if they use the most standard, widely available kind of connectors.

I have the exact things in the Solid Signal line Hokie provided. Works like a charm, really solid fittings.......
