Isn't D* supposed to be the leader in HD sports? So far, no HD games via NHL CI from D* and no HD schedule posted.

Incidentally, E* posted their HD NHL Ci schedule at:
http://www.dishnetwork.com/content/whats_on_dish/pay_per_view/sports/hockey/hd_schedule/index.shtml

Notice that E* provides both home and away feeds for some games, including HD.

Incidentally, we must have a 51st state.. "Floridia" is listed.. never heard of that state...

I just received a reply from D* about my email:

"I'm sorry to hear though, that you've had some problems with the Canadians/Hurricans game last night as well as not getting NHL games in HD except thru Versus. Let me assist you on this matter.

In reference to the game being broadcast in French, Canadians games in the NHL Center Ice package will be shown in English as long as we have an English feed available to us but for some games the French broadcast is the only one available to us. I'm sorry for this inconvenience.

You also mentioned that last night's game was fuzzy and you weren't able to read the screen graphics. To troubleshoot the issue, unfortunately, your email did not provide me with enough information to be able to assist you. Please write back and let us know if there were specific error messages or extension numbers onscreen so we can better address your concern. Be sure to include the original message.

Customers may get some NHL games in high definition (HD) on Ch. 90-99. For example, when Versus broadcasts a game in HD, we may carry the HD feed on Ch. 96. It's good to note that there's no HD games provided via the Center Ice package. We're always looking for ways to enhance our services, and customer feedback is very important to us. I have forwarded your comments on to DIRECTV Management. "

My reply:
The issue was with the D* feed of the Habs/Canes game, not my HR20. I got no error messages and the other games were perfectly fine. I also find it interesting to note that it says "no HD games provided via the Center Ice package". E* is offering NHL CI games in HD and they even have the schedule on their website and also offer home/away feeds of many games.

Man that sounds like the same thing they wrote to me.:nono2:

"Also, as of now you may get some NHL games in HD on channel 90-99. For example, when Versus broadcasts a game in HD, we may carry the HD feed on channel 96. NHL Center Ice includes select games in HD."

If they want people to pay for this package and stay with "The leader in HD sports" they need to HAVE HD sports besides football. Kind of lame that E* does both feeds and D* "MAY" carry the HD feed.:(

Wow I'm kinda shocked at this. So much for being the HD leader in sports. :(

Is the Blackhawk game in HD on CSNCHD?

Another pat answer from the Big Book Of Why The Customer Is Always Wrong. The simple fact? NHLCI, including the current free preview, simply "unblacksout" existing RSNs, to a great extent. The system just added HD channels that carry the NHL. NHLCI simply consists of permiting those channels' SD versions. Its a push of a button to do likewise for the HD version, but the DirecTV dimbulbs lack the sense to do that.

In Demand also has HD games on CI. Looks like one or two HD games a night.

I was watching CI HD on my free preview with my local cable company which
Comcast just bought on 9/1.

I just emailed DirecTV and Chase Carey (at chase.carey@directv.com) and encourage others that want HD games via D* NHL Center Ice to do so, too.

not sure it will help but sent an email to chase...i am not happy about DISH having tons of HD hockey and very little on D*. Hopefully D* will start showing more soon. All of the hockey channels have an HD "sister" channel so I hope that means we will start to see more games in the near future
