Can't you make a favorites list to get rid of the SD version of the new HD channels?

You can make a Custom list. I have 2 of them.

The manual says hit the guide button twice for this option. I only have all channels as an option.

Menu>help&settings>setup>display>preferences tab>guide HD channels=hide sd duplicates

Just like the other idea, I do not have that option.

Why do some have these options, but I don't?

I apologize, this is coming soon.
In the meantime what spartanstew was speaking of was favorites.

menu>favorites>custom 1 or 2> then edit settings of that favorite

I really appreciate the help with the custom settings. Why can't I filter the guide? I have no options whatsoever when I hit the guide button twice.

Do you have a Favorites list set up yet? Hit Menu, select Favorites, then select Setup Custom 1 (or 2).

I had this happening on my HR-20 the last couple of days also. Restarting the unit cleared that up and the second press of the guide button now lists the categories again.

That did the trick. Thank you!

There seems to have been a rash of that happening lately, I have to guess it has to do with all the channels coming online.

Is there a shortcut to cycle through the custom guides without going into the menu and setting each one as the default?

I'd like to do one custom guide for my normal viewing choices and a 2nd for maybe DOD and XM channels.. then be able to toggle between each easily.

Menu>favorites>custom 1 or 2 then edit and you can select any channels you want. Then every time you hit guide, that is the only thing you see.

As JB3 stated, the fix is to reboot the box. Sometimes for who knows what reason the box goes stupid and will only show "All Channels". A reboot or two fixes it.

I've already set up my custom guides. I was wondering if there was an easy way to toggle from one custom guide to another.

So If I hit "guide" and my custom guild #2 displays.. is there an quick way to change it to custom guide #2?

Not any more than selecting favorites in the menu that I know of.

I think there was an item in the wish list for this at one point.
