I had Law and Order: Criminal Intent set to record on USA prior to the simulcast HD channel becoming active. It recorded properly (non-HD) this evening.
I decided to set up a new Series Link for it on USAHD instead of USA. Per my previous experience doing this a few days ago, I just set up a new Series Link on the HD channel, expecting the one set for the SD channel to be replaced by it, as had happened with other programs I'd done this with.
However, since I asked it to create one at a different time (10pm instead of the 7pm time the SD Series Link was set to), it didn't disappear. This wasn't surprising. I deleted it manually.
The surprising thing is that when I went through the upcoming episodes to next Thursday, there was no recording indicator on either the SD or HD channel for the 7pm or 10 slot.
When I told it to record the series on the SD 7pm slot (remember, I had manually deleted this series link a few minutes ago), it showed "record as set" rather than "record series". I.e., it behaved as though there was a series link for the 7pm SD channel showing, but there's not.
When I looked at the 7pm slot on the HD channel, there was no series link set ("record series" instead of "record as set").
When I looked at the 10pm HD slot (where I had created the new HD series link), there was no recording indicator, and going into the info, it showed "record series" instead of "record as set". As though there was no series link. Yes, the show in this timeslot was first-run, and was not marked as a repeat.
I could go back to the list of upcoming episodes and use the record button to set it to record that one show manually, but when I pressed again, it disappeared instead of going to the record series recording icon. Also, when I went into the info and tried to tell it to record the series, it would act like it had set up a new series link, but the number (39) was the same as the one I'd previously set, and when I went back to the list of upcoming episodes and then right back to the show info, it once again behaved as though there wasn't an existing series link ("record series" instead of "record as set" for the lower right button).
I tried to set up a series link on the HD 7pm slot, and the same thing happened.
So, as far as I can tell, I have a series link for the 10pm first-run episodes on the HD version of the channel. it's number 39 in my list of series links. But it's not indicating it's going to record any of the upcoming first-run episodes, and when I look at those specific episodes, the UI appears the way it does when there is no series link set up, instead of the way it does when there's one already for that particular show and time.
