It is like there are two different companies ... one that transferred all of it's satellite space to E* and will need to shut down satellite service and another that acts like nothing is changing!

The survey that I just received makes no mention of the impending loss of satellite channels. But they do want to know what channels I want added and what channels I watch on SkyAngel.

Their suggested additions (pick 7):
Weather Channel - (www.weather.com)
Food Network - (www.foodtv.com)
Game Show Network - (www.gameshownetwork.com)
ESPN - (www.espn.go.com)
The Outdoor Channel - (www.outdoorchannel.com)
Animal Planet - (www.animal.discovery.com)
Biography Channel - (www.biographychannel.com)
History Channel - (www.historychannel.com)
Discovery Channel - (www.dsc.discovery.com)
Turner Classic Movies - (www.turnerclassicmovies.com)
Sportsman Channel - (www.thesportsmanchannel.com)
Disney Channel - (http://home.disney.go.com/tv/index)
TV Land - (www.tvland.com)
RFDTV - (www.rfdtv.com)
BlueHighways TV - (www.bluehighwaystv.com)
The Golf Channel - (www.thegolfchannel.com)
The Military Channel - (http://military.discovery.com)
NASA Television - (www.nasa.gov/multimedia/nasatv)
The Pentagon Channel - (www.pentagonchannel.mil)
Visual Arts Network - (www.visualartsnetwork.tv)
Fox Business News - (www.foxnews.com/business)
Discovery Kids - (http://kids.discovery.com)
Discovery Home - (http://home.discovery.com)
Do It Yourself Network - (http://www.diynetwork.com)
Toon Disney - (http://psc.disney.go.com/abcnetworks/toondisney/index.html)
PBS Kids Sprout - (http://www.pbskidssprout.org)

They also want to know "Which cable news network do you prefer?" (CNN, Fox News Channel, MSNBC or None of the above)

Yet no mention of IPTV. Someone needs to tell the marketing department that the platform is changing! :)

Ya i think that you will see the iptv service not just christian and will carry more secular channels.
Therefore justifying the cost of the service.

My bet is that IF Sky Angel adds additional secular channels that they will be on another tier that you have to pay additional for.

I seriously doubt that the programers will give Sky Angel any sort of price break so their new tiers may be quite expensive.

Canadian SKY ANGEL IPTV doesn't have "extras", in fact they have a few less that us I think......

If I want a secular package that has a few christian stations I might as well buy dish family, already own the equipment and its cheaper than IPTV besides

An IPTV family pack could be useful for city dwellers who can get the IP but not a southern/eastern view for a dish. It might actually make up for the rural users that SkyAngel will lose because of lack of IP.

It is a business decision ... a tough one, but just business.
