This may be for Scott G.....

It says automatic switch to unused Tuner, instead of going to pip then swap to get to the 2nd tuner.....How??

Thanks.

Ok let's say you see something on you want to save so you press Record. Now you want to keep recording but change channels.

Before if you wanted to change channels it would ask you if you want to stop your recording. So in order to change channels you would have to press PIP then SWAP then PIP again to get the the second tuner.

Now to do it you just change the channel and it flips to the second tuner automaticly. However if both tuners are recording you will get a message letting you know both tuners are in use.

So there is still no way to just do a swap to the "other" tuner without going through pip? I would love to be able to do a one button swap without ever having to see the pip (minimum 3 pip button presses: on, larger, off). This is what I thought you ment as "automatic switch". The automatic switch sounds like a nice new feature but I would still like a one button swap.

Hmmmmm.... One button swap looks like a good macro application for a Pronto or other remote. SWITCH= PIP+SWAP+PIP

This kind of goes hand in hand with a feature I would like to see, to be able to have a buffer on the second tuner without having the PIP up on the screen blocking the view. That only works when one thing is recording. This could be implemented somehow.

The problem with using a macro to make a one button swap is not knowing what state the system is in so you would have to be careful using it. The macro pip+swap+pip+pip (you would need two pips on the end due to the two pip windows sizes you have to cycle through to turn pip off) would only work if you were in no pip state. Ok as long as you remember that, otherwise like many a macro, you can get the wrong result.
