So I punch in my zip code, I put all the settings in and... nothing.
Aside from a lengthy and painful systematic scan of the sky, I'm not sure what to do. But, there is a pattern to the madness, I'm only receiving signal on three transponders:
Satellite: 101 degrees, singal on transponder number 32, 30, 28
The signal for strength these three channels is all above 80, every other channel is zero. I have the 5 LNB dish.
Any suggestions?
Sounds like you are pointed at the wrong sat, move your dish back to the East slightly, 1 degree on your dish is a huge amount of difference at the 22,500 mile distance to the sats, it sounds like you are pointed at 110 not 101.

Note that the azimuth, elevation, and tilt settings for the 5 LNB dish are different than for the old 3 LNB dish. Using the old settings with the new dish will cause you point to the wrong sat.
Also, the 3-LNB dish is aimed at the 110 satellite, while the 5-LNB is aimed at 101. If you replaced a 3-LNB with a 5-LNB and aimed it the same direction, you are aimed at the wrong satellite.
All indications are that you are pointed at 110. You need to move 8 to 12 degrees east of where you are now pointed. Go slow. Pause. Wait to check signal. Repeat.

When I check the signal should I find one channel that has something and watch it go up and down or should I put it on the screen that shows all transponders for a given satellite and wait for a refresh?
I'm not sure what the refresh on the page with multiple transponders is or how long I should wait to see if I pick up any new ones, suggestions ?

If you go into the SAT setup screen to where the transponders are listed, there is a signal meter option at the bottom. That is what you want to use.

right, but there's 150 transponders that all say zero. Should I just pick one and point the satellite around until the random one displays a signal?

You need to start out with sat 101, tranponder 1.

150 transponders?
As posted start with 101 and also start with the basic settings for your dish [AZ, EL, & tilt] which should get you close.
After tweaking the 101, 119 SATs, then move to the 99/103 SATs as these need the fine tuning.
