Ssystem Went DARK!

OH BOY! What is going on here? Today I was watching a movie on Life, and I was reading the DirecTV Guide. Then I went to change a channel and the  system just blanked out, and the picture went away, but the sound is there.

Now it's not my TV, becasue I can view VCR tapes, so i know the TV is ok. I just bought this TV in September also.

What might this be? I just called DirecTV, because the Remote control stopped working a few weeks ago also. It does not turn off the TV nor Mute or turn the volume up nor down, but everything else on it works....LOL

Boy I feel stupid! LMAO!

Is the video cable on the satellite receiver (the yellow one, or the black one with the 5-pin connectors depending on if you're using composite or Y/C video) connected to the TV and to the satellite receiver properly? Is the TV on the right input?

Yes, everythig is connected peoperly. I've had no probs since getting this installed in September. Well, I guess we all are gonna have our 1st outage once , huh?

Ok...after 36 times (36) over the last hour of resetting the receiver, it finally worked and my picture came back.

I think I may need a new receiver. This is the Philips 5353 I have here.
