Just thought i would pass a safety note on to you about an incident that happened here over the weekend, YOU MAY want to consider this also.

NEWS report
A family survived a close call when their home in northeast Harris County was hit by lightning. A little girl who was hurt is now out of the hospital, but the family pet didn't survive. The bolt traveled down a neighbor's tree, hitting the family's satellite dish. The bolt was so strong, it knocked MacKinley's father out of a chair. inside the family home, things only got worse. The family dog, Comet, was apparently too close to a metal stove. She died from the shock.

This is also why you MUST have your SAT lines GROUNDED

Also with your SURGE protectors... a lot of them are not rated to carry the signal properly for the entire spectrum that DirecTV uses now.

As noted by many people resolving their 103(b) signals, by taking it off their surge protectors.

So bottom line... if your dish is installed properly, with it's grounding properly setup....

Also.. in that case... and I think HASAN also had a similar case...

There is "more" to it, then just the SAT dish carrying the electrical charge...

Lightning strikes are extremely powerfull.... and you can only do so much to damage from them....
