721 Slow

Hi All

Has anyone else experienced a lag time (5 seconds) when using the Ch. UP or DOWN buttons in the picture locking in on a 721 Rec?

This is actually normal with this receiver.

Nope infact I think this software is faster then the old version.

But there is a trick when you press Channel Up or Down Press Select imediately after pressing channel up and down and it will tune in a little faster. :D

This new software makes changing the channel as fast as my moms 301!

You got to be kidding me! It does not change as fast as a 301 does. It is the same. So if you change channels and then see the channel you want to be at, and when the channel's banner comes up, you can press select for a quicker display of video?

I'm preparing my Pronto for the 721 I should receive tomorrow. Is there a speed advantage only for using Select after Channel Up and Down, or is this true for Channel numbers as well (I have icons that send "2..0..5" for instance)?

I have tried using select after channel change and have not noticed a difference.
