I received an email an hour ago that the SBE Show in Reno has just been canceled. Something about a payment misunderstanding and not wanting to delay some classes by as much as a day, so it's better to cancel the whole show.
When I called the Convention Center, I got a Joe who said that he hadn't heard of the cancellation, but that the rent really hadn't been paid yet, and that they really were still locked out, and there were "issues". I have no idea whether that's true, but I verified that some other would-be attendees had also received the email.
The email has details on how to submit "an itemized bill showing the amounts lost because of the cancellation of the show" so that none of us will "lose a cent". So if you got the email, you know what to do.
