View Full Version : Sporadic pixelation: PHX HD Locals

Is anyone else having sporadic pixelation and/or sound drops on Phoenix local HD channels? I've seen it on ABC, CBS and NBC.
It was a big problem during the Florida-LSU game, the Packers-Bears game, Grey's Anatomy and The Office over the past few days.

Everything clears up perfectly for commercials, the SD stations are normal, and it is very inconsistent with issues.

I have a hard time believing it could be signal or equipment related on my end.

Sunday was bad, I agree.
I just hope when I get home tonight to watch my recording of Hero's, I don't see green squares...

Anyone call DirecTV about this?

I called D* and they said they were having an issue with 103(a) and there was no ETA on the fix.

abc and fox have been a little flaky today in the dc area locals. but we are on the 99(a)... so not sure what is going on...

Same problem here. I hope they put this fix on the fast track.

I blame it on the crappy weather here in phoenix

Damn rain fade! (some day I want to experience it, just once)!

I fianlly switched to OTA becasue of this on Sunday and have not yet seen/heard any of the video or audio glitches which I was seeing in nearly every show with the sat feeds. (99-100 signal strength)

directv is working with the broadcaster to fix this problem. no eta on fix.

It is my understanding that Directv gets the PHX HD locals from an OTA antenna, then feeds it up to the sats. This could be part of the problem, although I use OTA for my HD in PHX and did not see any issues last weekend.

sounds like it could be an uplink issue.

broadcaster or broadcasters??? It happens on all sat provided HD locals.

I saw problems on all Phoenix HD over the weekend but have not seen any problems since Monday a.m. Anyone else saw anything since then?

Seems better here in Seattle since last week, but did have the problem appear for a few minutes last night -- fortunately it didn't mess up a recording on my HR20.

The Bears/Packers game was terrible. As was the Saturday "Chuck" showing too - which was totally unwatchable.
