2 remotes 2 Hr20-700 in the same room

Does any one have two HR20-700 in the same room? I would like to have one remote control one unit and the other remote control the other. I know how to do this with Tivo but not on these DTV DVR's

You can actually use the same remote to control both.

On the 2nd unit press menu-->Help & Settings-->Setup-->Remote-->Receiver Mode-->Change it to AV1 or AV2-->Done.

Then press program remote and cover the IR sensor on the 1st DVR and program the 2nd unit to work in AV1 on the remote.

As BMore said you can have it your way with two remotes working their respective HR20s or one remote controlling both depending
on slider position...DTV or AV1. Either way the How-to Thread above will walk you through the programming steps.

Use the remotes in RF mode (make sure you have RF remotes). They are set up to only function with a specific unit.
