anybody know about internet access?

DirecTV is pushing its high-speed internet access. Can anybody provide any first-hand recommendation or warnings? Upload/download speeds? Multilpe users? Web hosting?

DirecTV has no more land based high speed internet access available. They only have DirecWay and that's through satellite. My recommendation would be to get either cable modem from the cable company or DSL from your local phone company or through Covad or Covad partner ISP's like speakeasy.net.

Check www.dslreports.com for good comparisons on DSL service.

It is now www.broadbandreports.com. I would consider satellite internet only if I ahd no other high speed alternatives.
