delete portion of recording?

Can anyone tell me if there is anyway to trim or delete a portion of a recording? I have some music concerts on the dvr in which I'm only interested in certain segments and I would like to remove the unwanted parts to free up space.

The simple way is to re-record from the DVR to a DVD recorder with a hard drive. Then do your editing and burn the result to a DVD.

Or just record the parts you want to the DVD recorder.

Of course, you do lose the HD quality though.
