Does anyone know where on the DTV website where it shows the end date of your commitment? I logged in the other day and could not find that information. I want to try to pressure them for a deal on an HR-20, and feel it would probably be best to do so after my commitment is up.

Thanks for your help.

I have never seen it posted on the website at all. I think the only way to find that out is to talk to a CSR. I tried calling them for an HR-20 last week and the best they would give me was 249.99 and free shipping. I said thanks but no thanks. But then again I still have a year left on my committment due to previous upgrades, but I've been a customer of theirs since 2004. If you have any better luck, let us know. :hurah:

At one point the bill showed a line item that said something like "Programming commitment" with start and end dates, but that has gone away. :(

Cheers,
Tom

The commitment date is not available on the website.

I also tried to get an upgrade to an HR20, and was told $200 plus extending my current commitment by another 2 years. I've read on this board that the upgrade commitment should replace, not extend, your current commitment.

My understanding is that if you acquire (as an upgrade or an add-on) and activate a new HD receiver or any DVR it commences a new two-year commitment.

Unless this has changed last week, a new unit does not extend the commitment, but restarts the 2year timeline as of the date of install/activation.

Tom you are correct a HDDVR will restart the 24 month clock on date of activation. Mine did the other day.

That’s what I was looking for, and was disappointed that I could not find it. Oh, well!
