I have a pole mounteed 3lnb I am having a install on a sliimline 8am tomorrow will the new dish fit on the old pole? not sure of pole dia it is the same pole i had my old dish net sat on before i switched to dtv

No it will not fit. The new ID of the slim-line dish is 2"

The pole used for the 3 LNB dish should be 1 5/8" and the pole you need for the 5 LNB is 2".

Some installers carry a "sleeve" that clamps over the old mast to create an ~2" OD mast for the new dish. Contact your installer BEFORE your appointment to check with them.

Or trot on down to an auto supply store and look for a tailpipe adapter. They make little sections of pipe about a foot long with different diameters on either end. I found one that slipped over the 1 5/8" pipe that had a two inch end. Cost less than five bucks for the pipe. I also bought a tailpipe clamp to secure it for a buck, but didn't need it, the pipe had a taper to it to accomplish the different diameters and when I hammered it onto my old mast it stuck real good - its not moving for anything.
