I am hoping someone can answer this question. If you live in B10 country, where the Wisconsin Penn State Big 10 game was on your local ABC channel in HD, what was being shown on your local cables ESPNHD channel?
With the new Big 10 contract with ESPN/ABC, the 3:30 ET time game will be shown nationally on ESPN if it is not shown locally on ABC. On D*, this means that the ESPNHD national Feed has the B10 game nationally but is blacked out where local ABC channel has the game.
On these games, they reverse mirror ABC/ESPN with another game, which this last weekend was the NC SC Game. My understanding, if you live in B10 country (On D*) where the ESPN HD channel is blacked out, the SC NC game was available on a SD ESPN Alt channel.
My question is: Was the local cable companies in Big 10 country where Wisconsin/Penn State game was on ABC, did they have the NC SC game on their ESPNHD channel? If so was it HD or SD?
There have been questions on if D* had rights to broadcast the alt ESPN channel in HD or if D* have just not set up the capibility to broadcast HD ESPN alt channels yet. If the local cable company had the NC SC game in HD, then that points to D* not having the capability set up yet vs rights to broadcast alt channel in HD as the local cable company would of had rights if showing in HD.
The ESPN alt channels are set up by location, as in CA, I only could see the SC NC game on Gameplan if I wanted to watch it, while it was on the Alt ESPN channel (I believe - maybe someone can confirm this as well) in Big 10 country.
