You can't use a splitter. Each input into the PVR unit needs to be a different LNB output, or a different output from a multi-switch.

Depends on exactly what equipment you currently have. What dish, what receiver. I'm not that familier with DirectTV setups - I have DishNetwork.

Any standard 2x4 or 3x4 multiswitch should work. Both LNB outputs go into the Multiswitch, all tuners goto the outputs of the multiswitch - NO SPLITTERS ! Make sure all cable connections are weatherproofed if you put the MS outside - I personally would put this under an eave if not in an attic or other inside place.

Sticks... those tuners on the UTV are for input from the sats only. The only PIP option for you is to use the pip on the UTV... you can't split the output to use PIP on your tv. The only way to do that is to have 2 recievers hooked up to your tv.
